“My Pretty”

Wow – we have an OBSESSION with “'pretties” at our house right now.  Sophia loves anything that is pretty and it’s gone to the extreme lately.  I can’t put lip gloss on without her begging to do the same, so we now have a near empty lip gloss in the car that’s just for Miss S.  She will drag a dress around the house begging someone to help her put on “my pretty.”  Shopping is a LOT of fun now – when we pass the shoe or clothing sections at Target she starts begging for pretties.  We even had a great mother-daughter moment the other day where we were doing each other’s hair.  SO much fun, though she has a long way to go before I’d consider her a good hairdresser.

One really nice benefit is that her pigtails are considered “pretties” so she LOVES to let me put them in and keeps them in her hair all day – a marked improvement from the days when she’d take them out seconds after I put them in. 

Sunday, after lunch, we heard some strange shuffling coming from the other room and found this:

Look at the HEIGHT of these shoes compared to those little feet!

She walked around for a good ten minutes with grace in those shoes.  I was so surprised and kind of impressed.  Some days, I don’t walk well in heels!

 
She definitely has moments of being messy, playing hockey, etc., but it looks like we have a little girly girl on our hands!
