Nashville!

We had a such a good time in Nashville! Dan's brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Lori, have a perfect house for having us all together - it was a lot of fun. This was actually the first time I have ever flown somewhere and stayed in someone's home, rather than a hotel. It was so much more relaxing!
Of course, we had to document Sophia's first day of air travel. As I said in an earlier post, she was an amazing traveler! And she is finally big enough for the stroller her Uncle Andrew bought her, which was perfect in the airport. It was so easy to use that I could fold it up, or put it together while holding Sophia in my other arm. That came in very handy going through security!
Grandma and Grandpa brought books and told us their main goal was to read and play with babies. That left us open to explore Nashville with Mike and Lori while the babies stayed home. It was nice and strange to have that much time as just a couple. I actually ended up missing Sophia a lot. I'm not used to spending so much time away from her!
The first thing we did was to get lunch at a place called Hot Diggity Dog. I'm so disappointed that I didn't' get a picture. It was such a fun place with the BEST hot dog I've ever had. They have themed hot dogs, named mostly for cities (the Chicago has everything on it) and the best part was eating in their outdoor seating the day before Thanksgiving!
Then we went to Opryland Hotel and looked around at all the shops and indoor landscaping. They have a river going through the middle that has water from places all over the world. There were quite a few lakes from MN included in it.
Thanksgiving Day:
Mike and Lori's friends joined us for lunch and Sophia was very comfortable with Grace!
We spent one afternoon/evening in downtown Franklin. It's the suburb where Mike and Lori lived when they first moved to the area and has a lot of cute shopping and restaurants. We ate at Puckett's, an old grocery store that seems more like a restaurant, but you can still buy a few grocery items.
And Sophia finally took a bath in the bathtub! I've been bathing her in the kitchen, near the sink and found that this is SO much easier!
We were sad to leave, but are looking forward to seeing them again pretty soon when they come to visit for Christmas. It was so hard to leave such nice weather - it got us wanting to move south. This chilly weather this week in Minnesota is making me wish we lived somewhere else!
